Unboxing

I ordered the item from Banggood Philippines, grab it here https://ban.ggood.vip/XxXL. They manage to deliver it at our doorstep via Ninja Van PH courier (COD is also available). It came in a yellow pouch with Banggood branding and the printed labels on the back. Upon tearing the pouch, you can see the small rectangular white box of the Zeblaze ARES smartwatch. No fancy package, just plain and simple since it is under 1K price range.

The box contains the smartwatch in color green, charging cable and the user manual that comes in eight languages.

Design

The appearance of ARES reminds me of the old and a classic Casio watch design. It looks rugged with two buttons located at the right side to turn on/off the screen and the second one is used to navigate 13-exercise modes. It is made of PC and a non-removable silicone strap and it has 3-color variants the (Red, Black and Green) that you can choose too.

Screen and dials

The 1.3-inch HD screen with 240x240 resolution is good enough to in any viewing angles and even under the sun. You can also change the Zeblaze ARES dial screen with its 30+ multi-custom watch faces, even design your own dial screen, and synchronize it using GloryFit app that is available on Android and iOS.

Features and functions

The Zeblaze ARES features health and fitness with its sports mode function, including Outdoor running, Cycling, Table tennis, Yoga, Spinning bike,  Walking, Indoor Running, Badminton, Mountain climbing, Skipping rope, Swimming, Spinning bike, Jumping jacks and Sit-ups. You can also use to as a stopwatch, alarm, calendar, receive message notifications, camera remote controller and music controls. To take advantage of its full features, you need to bind it to your smartphones using GloryFit app. From there you can change the dial settings, turned on/off features, adjust parameters, clear data, firmware upgrade and manage your daily/weekly/monthly fitness goals.

Battery and charging

The battery of Zeblaze ARES can last up to 15 days in a power-saving scenario and 7 days only in a typical usage. Based on my experience, the GloryFit app and binding seems to play a huge role of the battery usage of ARES. You may not hit the typical usage indicated due to Bluetooth connectivity and data synchronizing. The battery size is 170mAh and the charging time take 1.5 hours to reach 100-percent.

Conclusion

The Zeblaze Ares is definitely a good buy if you are looking for an affordable smartwatch that offers health and fitness functions. Without hurting your wallet, you can have trendy yet classic style of smart watch with useful features that you can use on your day-to-day life. On the other hand, the silicone strap used in ARES feels hard that may affect your ease of long time use.
