If you received “ Unknown device” on the Device Manager of your Dell Latiitude laptop, all you need to do is install the right drivers to solved that problem. Here in my post I managed to solved and fixed this problem by installing Dell Security Device Driver for 32 bit operating system (WindowsXP).  You may see the steps below and tips below on how to install those drivers.

1. Download the Dell Security Device Driver for 32 bit here.

2. If link  doesn’t work, you may go to Dell website and search “Dell Security Device Driver for 32-bit” then select the right driver based on your BIOS version.

That will solved the Broadcom USH driver problem.

To Contacted Smartcard Unknown device:

1. All you need to do is open the Device manager, right click on the unknown Contacted SmartCard device then click update driver. Just follow the update driver wizard to succesfully updated the driver.

2. Make sure that you have a working internet connection to on updating the driver.
