Make sure that your network provider is listed in Apple LTE supported networks.

Download the latest software update

Go to Settings
Tap  General
Tap Software Update then Download and Install

How to Switched on or enable LTE on your iPhone?

Go to  Settings
Tap General
Tap  Cellular
Switch ON Enable LTE.

Tips:
Turn your LTE off when not use to save battery power, just turn it on once you want to use it again. You may follow steps above on how to turn on and off your LTE feature on iPhone 5.
